 Information applies to gripper models P-3100, P-3200, P-3300, and P-3400, also known as Square Jaw Brute Grippers.
The following options are available to optimize RAD's
2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Gripper for your particular environment or application
Sensors
Sensors can be positioned in any of the six standard dovetail slots and/or two standard barrel slots (for round sensors) in the wall of the gripper cylinder and are actuated by the magnetic piston. The sensors are:
- encased in a plastic housing
- corrosion resistant
- furnished with a hex socket screw, mounting clamp and a hex wrench for secure installation
- designed to work in temperature ranges of -4ºF to +176ºF (-20ºC to +80ºC)
Note: The 45º wire outlet allows close mounting.

Proximity Switches
Proximity switches are available for the P-3200, P-3300, and P-3400 models of RAD's Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Gripper. The proximity switches are threaded directly into the housing of the gripper to protect them from dirt and debris.
Pneumatic Air Ports Location
The location of the pneumatic air ports on RAD's Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Gripper can be rotated in 90º increments relative to the jaws if requested.
Jaw Hard Stop
A pneumatically actuated hard stop is available at any location along the stroke in the close direction on RAD's 2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Gripper. This creates a third close / open position.
Viton Seals
Viton seals are available for when RAD's 2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Parallel Gripper is used in a hostile environment. Viton seals are designed for high temperature environments (up to 400ºF / 204ºC) and are resistant to many hostile fluids.
Side Mounting Plate
A side mounting plate is available for all RAD 2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Grippers.
Adapter Plates
Plates used to connect RAD's 2-Jaw Square Jaw Brute™ Pneumatic Gripper to the robot are available to help you easily install your new gripper.
Collision Sensors
RAD's Collision Sensors stop the robot and protect your valuable tooling in the event of a collision.
Robotic Tool Changers
Automatic Robotic Tool Changers allow you to maximize the productivity of your robot by enabling it to perform multiple operations without human intervention.
NOTE: Pneumatic grippers are used on robots, robotic arms, linear actuators, pick & place machines, and other automated equipment.
